Junot Díaz's fiction is probing and funny. It's also situated at the often challenging and always complex center of first-generation American experience. Díaz, Dominican Republican-born and New Jersey-bred, has a knack for capturing the messy, maudlin, and majestic dramas of finding one's way in a brand-new world. The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" and "This Is How You Lose Her" visits Scripps to reflect on, among other things, they ways that literature and politics intersect. This program is presented in partnership with the Scripps College Humanities Institute and sponsored by the Alexa Fullerton Hampton '42 Fund.
