    Art conservators are in the business of cheating time and managing change: slowing down the inevitable rate of loss of our art, architecture, archaeology and archives. Scripps Professor Eric Doehne tells the story of how a new generation is using science and technology to solve longstanding conservation problems and gain insights into heritage, ranging from Stradivarius violins to Van Gogh's paintings, and he reveals how potato chip technology and Ellen Browning Scripps helped save Egypt's mummies.
