    Claremont Graduate University will hold their Fresh Check Day® on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Des Combes Quad.

    Fresh Check Day is a program created by the Jordan Porco Foundation (JPF). It is an uplifting mental health promotion and suicide prevention event that includes interactive expo booths, peer-to-peer messaging, support of multiple campus departments and groups, free food, entertainment and exciting giveaways. Fresh Check Day aims to create an approachable atmosphere where students are encouraged to engage in dialogue about mental health and helps to build a bridge between students and the mental health resources available.

    New Zealand piano music in the 20th and 21st century: works by Jack Body, Ross Harris, John Psathas, Douglas Lilburn, and David Farquhar. Hao Huang (Scripps faculty), piano and Jian Liu (New Zealand School of Music faculty), piano. Sponsored by the Departments of Music at Pomona and Scripps colleges. Doors open at noon. Admission is free and open to the public. Food is not permitted in the auditorium. All artists and programs subject to change.

    7 p.m. Service of Remembrance at Kingman Chapel at Claremont United Church of Christ followed by candlelight processional vigil with reception to follow back at CUCC.

    World AIDS Day 2017 events are co-sponsored by the Office of Black Student Affairs, Queer Resource Center, Pomona College Museum of Art, McAlister Center, Claremont United Church of Christ, Foothill AIDS Project, and Health Education Outreach.
