Claremont Colleges Events

This is your opportunity to see how the native plants available at the fall plant sale look in a mature landscape setting. Visit the plant displays and glean some hot horticulture tips from your guide about the many interesting native plant varieties that are available. Discussion topics will cover proper plant selection, environmental variables that affect plant performance in garden settings, and the conditions and garden situations preferred by particular plants.

$12 ($15 nonmember)

Alfred Cramer and Danielle Cummins (baroque violin), Roger Lebow (baroque cello), Carolyn Beck (baroque bassoon) and Graydon Beeks (harpsichord). They'll perform music by Handel, Purcell and others.

Music by Pomona College music faculty members Thomas Flaherty ("Moments of Inertia") and Eric Lindholm (String Trio). Also on the program is Alec Wilder's "Suite" and Miklos Rosza's Sonata for Solo Oboe Op. 43 (1987). ensembleGREEN members include Marisa Kuney (violin), Kira Blumberg (viola), Lynn Angebranndt (cello), Julie Long (flute), Paul Sherman (oboe), James Sullivan (clarinet), and Tara Speiser (bassoon).
